Ivy Walker Duggan papers, 1828-1865.

The collection consists of papers of Ivy Walker Duggan from 1828-1865. The papers include clippings regarding the Washington Institute (Linton, Hancock County, Ga.) and Bethlehem Academy (Warther, Washington County, Ga.) and published letters (1861-1865) by Duggan while serving in the 15th and 49th Georgia Infantry Regiments in Virginia. Duggan writes from Manassas Junction, Centerville, Richmond, Orange County Court House and describes camp life, troop movements, and lists wounded and dead from his regiment and other Georgia regiments. This volume also contains class rolls for the Washington Institute for 1861. The collection also contains handwritten (December 12, 1828) and printed minutes of the Washington Baptist Association from 1828-1857.
